Terms and Conditions
Last updated: February 2026
By using Campyavan, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, and the Campyavan Code.
What Campyavan does
Campyavan connects people traveling in campervans, motorhomes and cars with people who have space to share. We're the platform—we help you find each other, handle bookings and payments, and provide support if needed.
What we're not: We don't own properties listed on Campyavan and we're not party to agreements between hosts and travelers. Bookings happen directly between you.
This means we're not responsible for verifying sites and listing. We're not responsible what happens during stays—site conditions, injuries, theft, damage, or disputes. We may help facilitate communication or provide support where issues arise, but we are not required to resolve disputes or guarantee outcomes.
Who can use Campyavan
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate, truthful information
- Have legal authority to list a property or book a site
For hosts
Legal compliance
You're responsible for:
- Following district council rules on short-stay hosting, land use, and zoning
- Complying with Building Code requirements if offering amenities
- Checking fire restrictions at checkitsalright.nz regularly
- Understanding and meeting your tax obligations
Tax and GST: Campyavan collects and remits GST on your behalf based on your registration status, but you must declare income to IRD (NZ) or ATO (AU) as required by law.

Your listing must be honest and current:
- Use recent photos of actual camping areas

- Keep your calendar up to date
Communication
- Respond to booking requests within 24 hours
